A musical triple-threat, Lisa Turner is a highly respected and accomplished singer, songwriter, and guitar player.
Lisa began singing, writing music, and honing her skills as a performer at the age of 30, while pregnant with her second of two sons. Since then, countless life experiences over the past few decades have contributed to her growth and develpment as an artist. From first listen, it doesn't take long to recognize that she had been doing the world a disservice those 30 years. Through a fog of mundanely monotonous music, Lisa shines as a rare combination of raw vocal talent and deep, impactful lyricism, effortlessly coalesced by her skillful guitar playing. Paul Anderson of the LA Times said, "Her crystal-clear voice will make your head turn. And once you hear her folk-based songs, you're hooked..." She has been hired to perform at gigs and house concerts all over Southern and Central California, she has sung professionally in recording studios for many artists and producers, and she even won a songwriting competition, for which the grand prize was a full scholorship to the 11-day Songwriters Bootcamp in Idaho. This only served to sharpen her craft further, and she has been spreading joy and introspection through her music ever since. She released her second CD “Red Jasper Sun” in 2005 and went on to be a finalist in the Performing Songwriter competition at the Wild Flower Arts & Music Festival in Richardson Texas. Lisa delivers smartly crafted songs in a variety of colors and textures in plainspoken stories and with honesty and depth of emotion. Moving songs of loss and heartbreak. Songs that remind us it's the simple things that matter most. Songs that tell us to open our hearts and love. Influenced by "all the music that ever touched me", she cites Patti Griffin, the Indigo Girls, Paula Cole, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, Bob Seeger, and Shawn Colvin as some of her favorite songwriters.
